The OLANA Private Landscape and Historic House Combo Tour for 5 in Hudson, NY

The complete Olana touring experience in one package! Led by an OLANA staff member for a group of up to 5 people, this private two-hour combination tour begins with a 60-minute guided tour in the electric vehicle of Frederic Church's artist-designed landscape, followed by a complete tour of both floors of the Main House. 4-week advance reservation is required. This tour involves several flights of stairs.

ABOUT OLANA - Olana is the masterwork of Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900), the preeminent American artist of the mid-19th entury. Olana's 250-acre artist-designed landscape and Historic House embraces unrivaled panoramic views of the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains, and welcomes more than 170,000 visitors annually. Olana is a public park and is open daily from 8 AM to sunset. Admission to the park is free of charge.

Frederic Church used landscape painting to convey the expansionist, optimistic worldview of mid-19th century America. His panoramic canvases emphasize meticulous atmospheric and botanical detail. Viewers delighted in identifying specific species of plants and birds, the strata in rocks, and various cloud formations. Church wanted to use art to reconcile the latest revelations of the natural sciences and the age-old evidence of the divine in nature. Today, Church is acknowledged as a leader within the Hudson River School, often called the first truly American style of painting. Frederic Church is well-known as a painter, but he was also a world traveler, a family man, and a self-taught architect, farmer and landscape designer. He and his wife Isabel were pious, well-read, and fun-loving. They raised four children at their estate overlooking the Hudson. Though Frederic and Isabel Church moved among New York City's cultural tastemakers, Olana was their primary home. https://www.olana.org/

Historic Ice Sailing Adventure!

Experience the beauty of an activity first brought to the Hudson Valley by the Dutch in the 1600's, sailing on ice! The Hudson River Ice Yacht Preservation Trust and members of the Hudson River Ice Yacht Club will host you and one friend for rides on our historic ice yachts of the 1800's, on the ice of the Hudson Valley in the winter of 2025-2026. These craft, adapted from the boats the Dutch used for winter transport into what were the fastest vehicles on earth, have been lovingly restored by members of the HRIYC. Raced by the members of the many ice yacht clubs located from Newburgh to Athens and up to Orange Lake near Stewart Airport, competitions were regularly covered by the New York Times and local papers, with hundreds of spectators in attendance at Poughkeepsie. Ice sailing is a fickle sport, and we are ready to travel to suitable ice when conditions are good. Keep this in mind, as you will need to keep some flexibility in your schedule! There will hopefully be a window of opportunity to sail that we will inform you of, and we hope for a cold winter. Historically, February has been the most likely month for us to sail. Past HRIYC Commodore and current President of HRIYPT Robert Wills and friends will take you on thrilling rides on the boats of the Roosevelt's, Rogers, and Grinnell families. Included in this experience will be a bottle of bubbly and two HRIYPT commemorative patches. Remember to dress for the occasion! https://www.hriypt.org/

The Thomas Cole National Historic Site is an international destination presenting the original home and studios of the artist and early environmentalist Thomas Cole (1801-1848). Cole founded the influential art movement of the United States, now known as the Hudson River School of American landscape painting. Located on 6 acres in the Hudson Valley, the site includes the 1815 Main House; Cole's 1839 Old Studio; the reconstructed 1846 New Studio building; and panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains. It is a National Historic Landmark and an affiliated area of the National Park System.

Activities include special exhibitions of both 19th-century and contemporary art, print publications, lectures, extensive online programs, school programs, the Cole Fellowship, free community events, and innovative public programs such as the Hudson River School Art Trail - a map and website that enable people to visit the places in nature that Cole painted - and the Hudson River Skywalk, a new scenic walkway connecting the Thomas Cole Site with Frederic Church's Olana over the Hudson River. The goal of all programs at the Thomas Cole Site is to enable visitors to find meaning and inspiration in Thomas Cole's life and work. The themes that Cole explored in his art and writings - such as landscape preservation and our conception of nature as a restorative power - are both historic and timely, providing the opportunity to connect to audiences with insights that are highly relevant to their own lives. The grounds are open every day for free from dawn to dusk. https://thomascole.org/visit/

$150 Gift Card to The Hudson House & Distillery in West Park, NY

Gift Certificate can be used for tours and tastings ($30 per person), dining, drinks, or in the shop at Hudson House and Distillery, 1835 Route 9W, West Park, NY 12493.

At The Hudson House, our mission is to produce world class spirits and offer a one-of-a-kind unique experience to our guests, while being true to our story and opening our property for all to enjoy. In the 1850's, Archibald Russell, philanthropist and founder of Ulster County Savings in Kingston, built a home for his family on an estate known as Glen Albyn. Archibald died in 1871 and his widow, Helen, sold the Glen Albyn estate to the Durkee family in 1885. The Durkee's were proprietors of one of the country's leading spice businesses and eventually condiment producers. They purchased the property as a wedding gift for their daughter and owned it until it was purchased in the 1920's by the Christian Brotherhood, and the historic estate served as a working monastery known as the Santa Maria Novitiate until the 1990's. We encourage you to explore the old buildings and truly experience this unique and special property in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Our vision is to share our story and experience through our world class spirits and our breathtaking property, and deliver what Hudson Valley has to offer to the world. Schedule a tour to learn more about how this incredible one-of-a-kind distillery came to life and overcame enormous challenges over 6 years. https://www.thehudsonhouseny.com/

1750 "Farmer's Landing" Tour for 6 in Wappingers Falls, NY

With the Hudson River and lovely gardens setting the scene, you and your group of up to 6 adults will enjoy an exclusive tour of Farmer's Landing in the spring of 2026 followed by refreshments. Farmers' Landing is a small two-story stone house circa 1750 in the Town of Wappinger where a wharf complex once existed at the mouth of the Wappinger Creek. It was once owned by the Verplanck family who operated a mill at Fishkill Plains from the late 1730s. Their mill was so successful, they opened a road between the mill and the Hudson River, establishing a Landing called Farmers' Landing. The house served as an agent's home/office who managed the docks and shipping of produce from local farms.

After you view the first and second floors of this historic house enjoy afternoon refreshments in the gardens overlooking the Hudson River. VALUE $300

Private Tour for 4 at 1709 Madam Brett Homestead, Beacon, NY

Enjoy a private, behind the scenes tour for up to four people of the Madam Brett Homestead in Beacon NY. Known as the oldest standing building in southern Dutchess County, the Madam Brett Homestead is a time capsule of colonial life. The homestead, which during the 19th century was referred to as the "Teller House", is now named for Catheryna Rombout Brett. The home was built around 1709 or shortly thereafter.

The tour will be led by a member of the Melzingah chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, who maintain the historic site. Madam Brett, herself, will also make a special appearance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madam_Brett_Homestead

$200 Gift Card to Farm to Table Bistro, Fishkill, NY

We are Farm to Table Bistro located in Fishkill, NY. We source most of our ingredients from local farmers and creameries and use as many local Hudson valley purveyors as possible. The promise we make to our customers is to provide them with the freshest ingredients that are seasonably available and do so by purchasing locally whenever possible. The word "local" gets thrown out there very often without any concept of what it really means. For instance, we shake hands every Tuesday with the man who makes our fresh hot dogs (Peter's Meat Market), we drink espresso corretto with one of the local farmers we use for produce (Taliaferro's Farm) and we are only a hop-skip away from one of the best cheese makers in the area with whom we are proud to purchase many of our cheeses from (Sprout Creek Farm). https://www.ftbistro.com/

Farmers & Chefs draws inspiration from our beautiful Hudson Valley regional farms while combining the freshest in-season local ingredients and global influences. Framed Ltd. Ed. Renegades / Dutchess Stadium Grand Opening Poster, Pickup Only, Rhinebeck, NY

Framed and matted under glass Inaugural 1994 Renegades Baseball / Dutchess Stadium signed and numbered, Limited Edition Poster by artist Linda Pault.

The artist met personally with every person in the poster to take a Polaroid photo of them in a unique animated pose to be replicated in the full color artwork. The Legend on the back identifies every one of the people in the stadium stands. According to DCHS Past-President, Robert Doyle, "Linda took a Polaroid photo of me with both arms in the air and my mouth opened wide. This pose of me was used in the full color poster at the center top holding up the "G" letter. At the time, 1994, I was the Chairperson of the Board of the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce that sponsored the poster project."

The GSDCOC President was Marsha Gordon, who is shown holding up the letter "R" along with many other people who were instrumental in bringing the stadium to Southern Dutchess. Also included are famous personalities such as Paul Newman and James Earl Jones! The poster, team and stadium just celebrated their 30th Anniversary last year. Framed poster measuring 32"x28" overall.

This might just be the only framed and matted, Limited Edition, Artist signed and numbered (15/500) Renegades poster with the original Legend identifying everyone, that also has the original Poughkeepsie Journal insert announcing the Renegades and introducing all the original players.

What's it worth? My reasonable estimate is $300. But, it sells regardless of price to benefit DCHS.

Exclusive Tour for 6 people of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company Firehouse in Dover Plains, NY

The J.H. Ketcham Hose Co., Inc. in Dover Plains is a volunteer fire company that has proudly served the community since 1903. Alongside the state of the art firetrucks and equipment, Dover Historian and former fire chief Brian Kelly has assembled a spectacular firefighting exhibit, chronicling the fire fighting history of Dover.

Glenn Newell and other early 20th Century local artists, and other displays. NOTE: There is a steep stairway and no elevator to tour the second floor. The two-story brick building on Route 22 in Dover Plains, notable for the cannons and original fire gong in front, is named for John Henry Ketcham, who served as General in the Union Army during the American Civil War and was a United States Representative from NY for over 33 years and United States Senator in 1860 and 1861.
