Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) Fundraising Auction of Unique Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/9

100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS.

The DCHS does not receive any Federal, State or County funding. It relies solely on donations, membership dues and private sponsorships from people like you. Please support the 100+ year old “Mission” of the DCHS that has “collected, preserved and interpreted the history of Dutchess County, NY, from the period of the arrival of the first Native Americans until the present day.”

Payment must be completed by Friday, November 14 at 3PM.

All lots sold as is, where is. There is a 15% Buyers Premium for all lots purchased. Payment methods are cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover & Amex.

DCHS is located at 6282 Route 9, Rhinebeck, NY. Normal open hours are Wednesday to Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM during which time you can take a close up look at many of the physical items in the auction. Private Tour for 6 of John Storm House with Champagne & Charcuterie Board Reception, East Fishkill, NY

Step back in time at the John Storm House when you bring your group of up to 6 people for a private tour! DCHS Trustee and Town of East Fishkill historian, Rick Soedler, dressed in period costume, will conduct your exclusive tour followed by a champagne and charcuterie board reception.

The youngest son of General Garrett Storm, John was born in 1765 and is documented as serving as a Private during the Revolution in the same militia regiment as his older brother Thomas who was a Captain. John would have only been 14 years old. He did go on to obtain the rank of Colonel in the local state militia and also served in the NYS Assembly. The house that stands today was either added on to by John Storm or built over the site of the original home built by his father Garrett after 1750. VALUE $370
