Enjoy a Stay for 3 Weeknights at The Roundhouse Hotel, Beacon NY

Located above the beautiful Fishkill Creek Falls, the Roundhouse Hotel is a destination getaway for people all around the world.

The property was originally part of the Matteawan Manufacturing Company, a textile manufacturer and one of the first factories in Beacon. It later housed the H.N. Swift Machine Shop, which reportedly manufactured the first lawnmowers in the US. One of the last businesses to call the property home was the Braendly Dye Works, which operated as late as the 1970’s. The rounded shape of the namesake building supposedly supported proper ventilation for the blacksmiths who worked there.

After an incredible combination of construction, restoration and design, many of the historic buildings on the property were given new life. Working with many local businesses and artisans, the owners created the new and modern world you find at The Roundhouse today: custom tables, light fixtures in the lounge and dining room, beds and desks in the guest rooms, steel fencing, custom tiles, original artwork and even their graphic design work has come from the immense talent pool you’ll find right here in Beacon.

Enjoy a stay for 3 weeknights at the hotel, just steps from the shops on Main Street in Beacon.

Private Tour of 1709 Madam Brett Homestead for Four People, Beacon, NY

Enjoy a private, behind the scenes tour for up to four people of the Madam Brett Homestead in Beacon NY. Known as the oldest standing building in southern Dutchess County, the Madam Brett Homestead is a time capsule of colonial life. The home and museum are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and are part of the NYS Independence Trail. The homestead, which during the 19th century was referred to as the "Teller House", is now named for Catheryna Rombout Brett, who was the first to develop the patent by selling property. After the death of Catheryna's mother, the couple mortgaged the manor house in New York and moved to the wilderness of southern Dutchess County. The home was built around 1709 or shortly thereafter. Roger Brett drowned in the Hudson River, leaving Catheryna a widow at age 31 with the surviving three of her four sons. The homestead is notable as the residence of this woman who as a widow organized with twenty-one men the first produce cooperative in the Hudson River highlands. The homestead was subsequently occupied by her descendants until 1954, spanning a total of seven generations. The tour will be led by a member of the Melzingah chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, who maintain the historic site. Madam Brett, herself, will also make a special appearance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madam_Brett_Homestead

Two Tickets to Annual Mount Gulian Gala Featuring General Von Steuben

"Dinner and Conversation with General Von Steuben"

The Annual Mount Gulian Historic Site Gala will be held onsite at their Beacon area, Hudson Riverfront 18th century home and Dutch barn on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 4:30 – 9:00 PM.

This is a wonderful annual event that will feature General Friedrich Von Steuben who was headquartered at Mount Gulian 1782-1783, close to the Fishkill Barracks and Supply Depot and right across the Hudson River from Washington’s Headquarters in Newburgh.

While at Mount Gulian "The Baron", as he was often called, learned of the signing of the Treaty of Paris, ending the Revolutionary War and giving the new nation total independence from England.

Often a footnote in history, General Von Steuben, a Prussian (German) immigrant, emerged from military obscurity in Europe to become an important but unsung hero of the Revolutionary War, having a lasting impact on the American Army and our nation’s history. Wikipedia Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Wilhelm_von_Steuben

The evening will showcase a catered affair, including a sumptuous four-course dinner based on some of their favorite foods. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served on the scenic riverside lawn prior to dinner.

Auction winner must contact Mount Gulian to receive an invitation.
