It began in 1994 with a dream. Ira Gutner packed his bags, left a successful career in New York City’s Garment District and moved upstate to open Samuel’s of Rhinebeck, a boutique candy and coffee shop in the heart of bucolic Dutchess County. Ira named his shop after his late Uncle Sam who introduced him as a boy to penny candy. Today we are known as Samuel’s Sweet Shop, and while our name has changed a little, our commitment to providing our customers the very best in candy, chocolate, coffee & tea, baked goods and other delicious treats hasn’t changed one bit. In fact, we’re working as hard as we can to make your experience with us better than ever. Value $100. https://samuelssweetshop.com//. If you live in Dutchess or Westchester County and you’re looking for the best beer store in your neighborhood, we’ve got you covered. Half Time Beverage has a beer store in both Poughkeepsie and Mamaroneck, New York right in the heart of the Hudson Valley craft beer phenomenon and surrounded by so many outstanding craft breweries and cideries. We feature over 4,000 craft beer and cider selections from over 800 breweries located in over 50 countries. If you’re searching for the best IPA of all time, chances are we have it. We’ve got thousands of IPA’s, lagers, porters, stouts, hefeweizens, pilsners, sours and a great selection of non-alcoholic and gluten free beer as well. And, if you're a cider enthusiast, we stock an amazing selection of ciders from our local Hudson Valley area and around the globe. We've even won a few awards for our jaw dropping selection. Ratebeer.com ranked us the Best Bottle Shop in New York, and Top 3 Beer Store in the World. Not too shabby. Oh, and by the way, we only sell craft beer and cider. We do not carry wine or spirits due to the unique liquor laws in New York. But that's a good thing because our focus is on craft beer and cider. Half Time Beverage is one of the few stores where you can grab one beer or cider at a time and make your own six pack. Here's a little history... We opened our first Half Time Beverage beer store in Poughkeepsie, New York (Hudson Valley area) back in 2002 and then a second beer store in Mamaroneck, New York in 2013 (Just 35 minutes from New York City). Craft beer enthusiasts come from the surrounding six states not only for the selection of craft beers and cider, but our exceptional staff as well. Each staff member participates in our extensive training program as well as private brewery tastings and industry seminars. Value $100. https://halftimebeverage.com/. We are Farm to Table Bistro located in Fishkill, NY. We source most of our ingredients from local farmers and creameries and use as many local Hudson valley purveyors as possible. The promise we make to our customers is to provide them with the freshest ingredients that are seasonably available and do so by purchasing locally whenever possible. The word “local” gets thrown out there very often without any concept of what it really means. For instance, we shake hands every Tuesday with the man who makes our fresh hot dogs (Peter’s Meat Market), we drink espresso corretto with one of the local farmers we use for produce (Taliaferro’s Farm) and we are only a hop-skip away from one of the best cheese makers in the area with whom we are proud to purchase many of our cheeses from (Sprout Creek Farm). Let's go back to when Amanda attended the Culinary Institute of America. Posting her desserts on Instagram and Facebook from her very first class, Amanda showed improvement with every picture. Eventually, something came along that few even knew what it was, but that it sure looked tasty… The French macaron. After graduating and working at Fenway Park with the Boston Red Sox, in Maine, and then moving back home to the Hudson Valley, somewhere in between Chef Amanda perfected the art of the fickle French macaron. Savor Amanda’s scrumptious macarons in over a dozen different flavors, all made in her shoppe in Eastdale Village, Poughkeepsie! All the flavors and colors are a festive treat to add as a dessert or for that special moment of indulgence! Value $100. amandasmacaronshoppe.com/.
