Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) Fundraising Auction of Unique Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/13

100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS.

Please support the 100+ year old “Mission” of the DCHS that has “collected, preserved and interpreted the history of Dutchess County, NY, from the period of the arrival of the first Native Americans until the present day.”

The tour Includes: 30-minute boat ride over to Bannerman Island aboard the Estuary Steward • Guided 1.5-hour walking tour of the island in which you will visit the famous Bannerman Castle ruins and gardens • Visit to the Bannerman Garden and Bannerman Residence, where you’ll learn about all things Bannerman • Return trip back on the Estuary Steward to Beacon where it all began. The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. is a not-for-profit “Friends” organization of volunteers working with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The Trust is dedicated to bringing together resources and funding to stabilize the buildings on Pollepel Island. The Trust aims to raise awareness and educate the public and government organizations on the value and history of the island. The Trust aims to raise funds for repairing the island, creating a master plan and eventually stabilizing the structures. The Trust is working to make the island safe for volunteers and for the public to enjoy the island as an educational, cultural, historical and recreational facility promoting heritage tourism in the Hudson Valley.
