Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/17
100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit
Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which
will also be going to the DCHS.

The DCHS does not receive any Federal, State or County funding. It relies solely
on donations, membership dues and private sponsorships from people like you.
Please support the 100+ year old “Mission” of the DCHS that has “collected,
preserved and interpreted the history of Dutchess County, NY, from the period of
the arrival of the first Native Americans until the present day.”

All lots sold as is, where is. There is a 15% Buyers Premium for all lots

Normal open hours are Wednesday to Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM during which time you can take a close up look at many of the physical items in the auction. Throw the ultimate birthday party at The Southlands Foundation! The Foundation encompasses nearly 200 acres with a history that spans three hundred years. The property dates back to the original King's grant to the Livingston and Beekman families from which founder Deborah Dows, was a descendant. She inherited the "south land" of her father's Foxhollow Farm. Combining her understanding of land, animals and people, with her teaching interest, Mrs. Dows opened a riding school in the late 1930s. Her vision continues to inspire the present Foundation activities that include horseback riding, horsemanship, and the love, understanding, and skillful care of horses to adults and children.
Your two hour party for up to 10 children is best suited for children between the ages of 4 - 8. Enjoy the beautiful grounds and spend time with Southlands' thirty-four horses, feeding them peppermints, carrots and horse treats! Safe pony rides (on a lead), crafts and games will be provided. In inclement weather, the pony rides and other festivities will take place in the heated indoor ring, and classroom in the loft.
