Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge - Hand colored Linocut – by Debby Davis

This picturesque handcolored linocut of the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge and the westside of Poughkeepsie, belongs in your home or office!

Meticulously created by artist Debby Davis in 1993, the artist captured the city's pre-development riverfront with her vision. Ms. Davis reveals Poughkeepsie's urban landscape in a sweeping panorama using bold lines, vibrant colors and a low altitude setting the scene for an emblematic view of the Walkway Over The Hudson. The diagonal of the bridge draws attention not only to landmarks still standing but to riverfront structures long since removed.

Debby Davis has been an artist for 70 years. She first studied at Harcum College and graduated from Pratt Institute. Debby continues to paint in her studio each day and has created many local scenes including historic Victorians in Poughkeepsie. Not only has Debby been a visual artist in her artistic career but her quilting skills have garnered her awards for her remarkable craftsmanship. Value $300.
