Taro Yamamoto abstract oil on canvas framed and matted under glass signed lower right in pencil "Taro Yamamoto 57", 21" x 27". Bio from AskArt: Taro Yamamoto (1919-1994), an American-Japanese non-objective painter, he was born in Hollywood, California to a wealthy Japanese landlord and builder. At the age of six he was taken to live in Japan, where he remained until age 19. According to the painter himself, he started painting at the age of six, and won many prizes in exhibitions at his Japanese schools. From November 7, 1941 to February 23, 1946 he served in the U. S. Army. In 1949, while he was attending Santa Monica City College, he was awarded the Grand Prize for a painting which was later presented to the Methodist Church in West Los Angeles. His work has been exhibited on Cape Cod, in New York City (at the Art Student's League in 1955), Paris, France, and elsewhere.

Bio from AskArt: Michel Delacroix (1933)'s charming historical scenes of Paris capture impressions of nostalgic and romantic moments. Combined with these early recollections are memories of the stories Delacroix's nanny told him about Paris before World War I. As a child Michel discerned only the splendor, horse drawn carriages, gas-lit lamps, hot air balloons and bustling crowds. Michel's style has been called "naive" because of his candidness, however, his works are created with the skill and knowledge of the well-educated artist. His skillful paint application, precise details and subtle palette are beautiful and captivating. "I walked endlessly from district to district, inspecting every corner and absorbing all the nuances accumulating an endless store of impressions to draw upon for my paintings," he says. Delacroix's work has been featured in over 300 solo exhibitions in the US and many more in Europe and Asia. Delacroix has achieved awards including the Prix Public-Prix Pro Art, (Switzerland 1973) the Grand Prix des Amateurs d' Art, (Paris 1975), the Grand Prix de la Cote d'Azur, (Cannes 1976) and the Premier Prix de Sept Collines, (Rome 1976). In 1976 Delacroix received the honor of having his work purchased by the Ministry of Culture for Paris Fonds National d'Art Contemporain. Delacroix was named the Official Artist of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and the Official Artist for the 1995 Special Olympics World Games.

Bio from Amourdart: Vadik Suljakov (1960) master Russian artist, nicknamed "Dima", has established himself as one of the most distinguished young impressionists in the country since he moved from Russia. At the age of 12 he started his formal training at Moscow First Art School. While in college, he was given the opportunity to visit Italy and France and took part in student exhibitions. It was then that the charm and beauty of these countries left an indelible mark on Dima. After college, Suljakov spent three years in the Russian Army. Tired of being asked by the government to tie his art to politics and longing for the freedom to express himself on canvas, Dima traveled to America in 1990. Suljakov worked as a commercial artist in New York City for several months before the company he was working for shut down. In 1991 Dima moved to Southern California and settled in the picturesque town of Laguna Beach. Working from sketches, thousands of photographs and vivid, cherished memories, Dima continues to create magical scenes that convey a timeless sense of history and old world beauty. Recognized by the Chalmers Institute as one of the premier Russian impressionists living and working today, Suljakov has garnered numerous awards, including Laguna Beach of the Year 2001, Long Beach Art Gala Distinguished Artist Award 2003 as well as being the featured artist at the Piermont.
