Straight razor. Unmarked. Imitation ivory handle with raised horse head, horseshoe and crossed riding crops in area that appears to be folded away at center. Stripes at either end of both sides. Pile side is rounded and plain except for striped ends. Others viewed include Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. (2), Hope Cutlery, Yankee Cutlery, Wm. Elliot (2), Roy and Rahaim & Malhami, NY. Found in different colored highlights. Scarce. Pattern # 51 in the "Celluloid Handle Guide for Straight Razor Collectors" by Robert A. Doyle. This razor was illustrated, in color, in "Straight Razor Collecting, An Illustrated Price Guide," that I wrote and published in 1980. Illustrated in a photo in the Introduction to the book P8.
