Straight razors. A wonderful combination pocketknife/razor having one handle with natural material, inlaid escutcheon plate and six blades by "G. Crown R. A. Hunts Superior Razor." G(crown)R stamped on tang dates to King George, 1760-1830. All the blades and the locking device for blades are all stamped with the number "10." These one Handled seven day sets are extremely rare and were produced for a very short period of time, approximately 1820-1840. Further, each locking device is numbered to correspond with the specific shaped tang that fits it. In this case the number is "10" which is on the device and the tangs. You could not lock these blades into the handle of any other similar set. This was a 7-Day set that is missing one blade. However, this is the first early, rare set like this having a pocketknife combined with the razor handle. Box needs repair.

Straight razor. RobT. Smith Warranted. Super rare "select horn" handle on this late 18thC Revolutionary War Period Razor. Kurt Moe Bought this rare piece at Auction out of my personal collection. You have another opportunity to buy it! This Handle material is the rarest that you will find in an early Razor. I have witnessed four, including the folding straight razor carried by the Duke of Marlborough. All four that I have encountered over the past 50 years, I kept. You will search for many years and most likely will never find one. I do not know why this "select horn" is so rare. It must have been extremely hard to find this kind of grain on a single horn.

Straight razor. I have never seen this razor pattern before and this rarity comes with its original colorful advertising tin flip top container. PANAMERICANA RAZOR COMPANY. The blade is etched THE MONROE RAZOR 7000. The colorful tin case is decorated NAVALHA PANAMERICANA along with MONROE and NEW YORK and RIO DE JANEIRO. NAVALHA translates to "Razor." Therefore this is commemorating the connection between the U.S.A. and Latin America. Monroe means President Monroe and more specifically "The Monroe Doctrine." Definition: The Monroe Doctrine is the best known U.S. policy toward the Western Hemisphere. Buried in a routine annual message delivered to Congress by President James Monroe in December 1823, the doctrine warns European nations that the United States would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarchs. To make things still better the cast, figural handle material is aluminum! It is fully decorated on both sides. Kurt Moe found some super pieces as he did not get this from me. Good luck.
