Emile Walters framed oil on board landscape scene of mountains by water, titled “Cap. Farewell, Greenland”, signed lower left “Emile Walters”, 12.75 ”x 10.5”. Bio from AskArt: Emile Walters (1893 - 1977) a landscape painter, known for winter scenes, particularly enjoyed the scenery of central Pennsylvania. He later specialized in views of Iceland (where he lived for a time), Greenland and the Arctic regions. Walters is widely represented in museums throughout the world. Born in Winnipeg, Ontario, Canada, Walters moved to the United States in 1898. Walters was a painting instructor for summer sessions at The Pennsylvania State University from 1922 to 1934, where he taught Hobson Pittman. Walters resided in Poughkeepsie, NY later in his life.
