4 Bedroom /2 Bath Revitalized Historic
18th C Homestead 1.1+/- acres
361 Route 216, Stormville, Town of East Fishkill, Dutchess County,
NY
Online Bidding Opens @ $159,000
Ending Wednesday, July 1 @ 1:10PM
The large four bedroom, two
bath, 2,600 square foot home includes the following updates: new paint, refinished
floors, new roof/siding, new replacement windows, new insulation,
driveway and landscaping. Mechanics include private well and septic.
Oil heat. The Homestead retains the historical characteristic look
of a grand farmhouse facing South while having the modern
conveniences desired in a contemporary home. Up for Auction is the
renovated home and large garage/outbuilding on 1.1 acre known as 361
Rte 216 on the corner of Moonlight Dr. The level corner lot is
flanked by Beautiful homes that were built when the farm was
subdivided in 1998.
Only 2.5 miles to the Taconic and 3 mils to I-84.
The farmhouse is listed in
the county records as dating to 1830. However, the large stone Dutch
fireplace in the lower level witnesses to an earlier structure
dating to the mid 1700's. The massive hand hewn beams confirm the
earlier date and an 1798 map by Henry Livingston pinpoints this
property to a Dutchman Burguyne Van Alst (1737-1803).
Van Alst, like the Storms, Adriances and other pioneers, carved out
large farms from lands purchased of Madame Brett from the original
Rombout Patent that covered all of East Fishkill.
An 1867 map of East Fishkill
shows the ownership of the Homestead as "P. Weiman." This post Civil
War farm was over 100 acres.
