Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) Fundraising Auction of Unique Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/13

100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS.

Please support the 100+ year old “Mission” of the DCHS that has “collected, preserved and interpreted the history of Dutchess County, NY, from the period of the arrival of the first Native Americans until the present day.”

- Value $300. The exclusive tour for up to six people will primarily show busts of people who were famous in the 1920s into the 1950s. The collection includes a bust of FDR that was used to create the monument at the focal point of Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island. Davidson’s art is on display at the National Portrait Gallery & in the Capitol Building. The curator of this exhibit is Dr. Julian Strauss, who will share the story of the artist’s life & career as a portrait sculptor. The history surrounding the importance of each notable subject will be included. Purchaser will coordinate their visit with the owner between April to October 2023. Testimonial from last years auction winner: "I purchased this unique experience last year. It was awesome. My family and I truly enjoyed learning about this talented artist and his life story of sculpting the portraits of so many famous people as told by our host, Julian Strauss.
