Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) Fundraising Auction of Unique Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/13

100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS.

Please support the 100+ year old “Mission” of the DCHS that has “collected, preserved and interpreted the history of Dutchess County, NY, from the period of the arrival of the first Native Americans until the present day.”

Roosevelt understood the importance of radio as a medium and used everyday language when addressing the American people. Bring your group of up to 8 adults to Michael and Patrick's125 year old Victorian Stick Style home in the Dwight Street Historic District of Poughkeepsie and relive that first radio experience as Americans did on March 12, 1933. Listen to the original recording of FDR's First Fireside Chat next to a relaxing fire and enjoy a martini, (FDR’s favorite!) and 1930s hors d'oeuvres! Discussion will follow lead by Michael, an archival researcher and FDR enthusiast. The date will be rescheduled in the event of bad weather. Minimum age 21. After arrangements are confirmed, the winning bidder must notify the contact with the number of people attending at least ONE WEEK PRIOR. Thank you! Value $400.
