Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) Fundraising Auction of Unique Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/13

100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS.

The DCHS does not receive any Federal, State or County funding. It relies solely on donations, membership dues and private sponsorships from people like you. Please support the 100+ year old “Mission” of the DCHS that has “collected, preserved and interpreted the history of Dutchess County, NY, from the period of the arrival of the first Native Americans until the present day.”

#32 – Experience Rombout Colonial Days For Four & Live A Day In An 18thC Community, East Fishkill, NY

Enjoy a unique "Living History" experience for four people at the 5th annual Rombout Colonial Days Weekend 2023. Come spend a day with the living history team at East Fishkill Brinckerhoff House Historic Site. Learn what life was like for our early settlers 250 years ago. You can try your hand at working in the outdoor kitchen, learning to bake in our outdoor bread oven or help prepare a meal over an open fire made with locally sourced ingredients, and vegetables grown on site. Try your hand at Blacksmithing. Teach a lesson in our one room schoolhouse. Learn how to make a homemade broom. Spend time with a Continental Soldier, all while you are dressed in period appropriate clothing. At the end of the day you will join everyone for a home cooked meal you helped prepare.
