Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) Fundraising Auction of Unique Experiences and Gift Certificates Ending 11/13

100% of the auction proceeds benefit the DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS.

Edgar Bayard Taylor was a keen businessman turned lumber magnate at the end of the 19th century in the City of Poughkeepsie. Dutchess County Historical Society Trustee and Local Historian, Antonia Mauro, invites your group of up to eight adults on a historic tour of Edgar Bayard Taylor’s life and three of his Poughkeepsie residences. "Three Victorian Homes: One Man’s History Edgar Bayard Taylor." Tour for eight people. The group will stop and view the exterior architecture (only) of Taylor’s first two Victorian residences, the first on the corner of Garfield Place and the other on Garden Street. Hear the history of how he built his fortune, married into the prominent Collingwood family and became a contributing citizen in Poughkeepsie. The final stop is Edgar B. Taylor’s third home where he passed away. Here, on Academy Street, your group will be invited inside by owners, Brian and Gianluca, who will show their first-floor interior rooms and serve refreshments! Arrangements: April 1st – June 24th, 2023 or September 9th – October 28th, 2023. Minimum age is 21. Value - $400.
